One wet and wild night!!! ;o)
|16 June 2001 - Milton Keynes, England, UK Concert Review
Bon Jovi haven’t lost the nack to performing a fantastic set of some of their most amazing songs... I read some of the other reviews and have to agree that the support acts didn’t do anything for me but at the end of the day I wasn’t there to listen to the other bands was I???!!!
Read the setlist for Huddersfield and all I can say is Im glad I went to Milton Keynes... ‘I’ll be there for you’ and ‘Blaze of Glory’... PERFECT. All we needed was a bit of ‘Blood on blood’ and I think I would have been standing there for the next 100 years!!
I have to disagree about the atmosphere though - maybe it was just where we were standing - but it HAS to be one of the poorest shows I have been to!! Despite the setlist and Jon getting the crowd going, people just seemed quite content to stand and listen to Bon Jovi rock... why didn’t you just save yourself the money and listen to the albums in your bedrooms?? Where was that amazing atmosphere which was there in Wembley just last year? Where was the build up... even the encore... Im surprised they even bothered to come back out! And how embarrassing was it when me and my mate were the only ones to shout “TEQUILA!”... next time Im going to keep walking until I find a group of TRUE fans!!! Looking around the bowl I saw ONE mexican wave and the odd person who looked like they would die with excitement but I think the rain must have washed away the majority’s enthusiasm... BIG dissappointment, but I didn’t let it ruin my fun.
Fantastic concert shame about the croud - have to agree with Carol! Bring back Wembley and it’s electric atmosphere... But Jon, Richie, Tico, David & Hugh you still made it into.... One wild night!
Blame it on the love of rock and roll...
Love Iceobird and me mate Mam!!! :O)
