23 August 2000 - Stoke-On-Trent, UK Concert Review 24 August 2000
The boys are back in town - but ....

A review by Sothportcol / col@4u.net

Well Andreas Johnson and Toploader tried to warm up the audience ..... but hey with the exceptions of "Glorious" from AJ and "Dancing in the moonlight" well lets not be too cruel !

The guys came on at 8pm and finished at 1010. Two encores and a not quite full stadium!

After seeing Jovi several times and all over the country it has to say it was a bit of a disappointment.

No pyros or anything like that during the concert and a 5 minute firework display !

Starting with Prayer / Bad name the band kicked in as they always do with the gutso you expect.

Two encores consisting of next 100 yrs / wanted / keep the faith.

A full set list was as good as you could expect, however the noticable lack of ballads - Never say goodbye / Always was a disappointment for some of the crowd.

If one thing the guys should do is cut out the stupid encores of going off "Goodnight" then coming back on 5 mins later then doing it again. It frustrates the crowd and pisses them off when it is obvious they are coming back

Oh yes - Jon - cut out the monologue of your acting it takes up good rockin time!
