23 August 2000 - Stoke-On-Trent, UK Concert Review 25 August 2000
Let it rock!

A review by Charlotte

Well, Bon Jovi rocked the Brittania Stadiumon on the 23rd! It was a great night and I'm sure that everyone had a great time. The band opened with 'Living on a prayer' which definately got everyone in the mood to party. The band played with gusto throughout the night with Jon being as charismatic and entertaining as always. Richie treated us to some virtuoso guitar playing with all the other guys playing brilliantly as well. The giant hands that appeared during 'Lay your hands on me' were fantastic. 'Its my life' had everyone singing along and the atmosphere was fantastic. Jon looked gorgeous in his leather outfit and Richie reappeared for 'Dead or Alive' wearing his famous cowboy hat and black coat. The sound quality at the stadium wasn't brilliant from where I was stood and I could hardly hear them to start with over the crowd but then it seemed to improve, although it still wasnt very clear but it didn't make the experience any less enjoyable. The show finished with 'Keep the faith' and 'Dead or alive' and a fantastic firework display. The best songs for me were 'Blood on blood' and 'One wild night'. They didn't play the accoustic version of 'Runaway' which was a slight dissapointment as they played it everywhere else and I heard that it was absolutely brilliant! I hope they come back soon as I don't think I could wait another four years like I had to this time!

The only problem with seeing Bon Jovi live, is that you can't go to any other concert without comparing it to Bon Jovi and all other groups seem inferior-which of course they are! No other group could ever live up to Bon Jovi-they are the gods of rock!
