13 May 2001 - Washington, D.C., USA Concert Review 25 June 2001
A 15 yr. old's 1st Jovi concert

A review by Chris H. / JOVIalCowboy86@aol.com

BON JOVI-BEST BAND ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!!

This was my 1st concert ever for Bon Jovi and ever since I heard they planned on touring here in D.C., I went balistic for tickets, about 2 months later, I was standing in the MCI Center sec. 410 rowdy as hell!!

The openers were SR-71 and as far as riling me up, the did a damn good job, "Politically Correct" and "Right Now" at the end were wonderfully done, and it was a good start to one wild night, after me and my friend went for some pizza, the main attraction began!!!

They had a very cool intro which ended in seeing them on camera coming up an elevator to music that began OWN on the Crush album....it stopped and the doors open....I NEARLY FAINTED!! I was in the presence of God(s) Jon and the gang walked out one by one and took their places, then began the concert, Richie and Tico began their first beats and there began "One Wild Night".

They started with the typical 5 in the beginning, OWN, Bad Name, Its my life, Keep the Faith and Living on a prayer, I was in love with all the songs and the band did an absolutely wonderful job..I was a lil dissapointed in some of the crowd heat shown, specifically in my mother who just sat down the whole time. I was one of the loyal fans who stood the entire concert.
"Someday Ill be Saturday night" was my favorite song in the whole concert with the wonderful video in the background. "Blaze of Glory" was unexpected and played so well with Richie and the boys with Jon. They played the whole load of awesome songs, "In These Arms" I fell in love with on the spot.

After Bad Medicine and Shout, two wonderfully looking ladies left to me and my friends luck and we took over the spot and began to scream knowing what was next. The encore began w/ "Say it Isn't So" one of the awesome songs on Crush. "Wanted Dead or Alive" was absolutely magical, Richie and Jon were on total spotlight and warmed up before Jon summoned the cowboys!!!! It was absolutely wonderful as the verses were sung by 3 diffrent people, Jon the 1st one, Richie the 2nd(I love when Richie sings it solo), and the lead singer from SR-71 in the 3rd, I will never forget it ever ever ever. and finally, the 2nd encore which wasnt a great ending but it got me dancing, so it did some good:-D.

Rock's Jovial cowboy did it all in D.C. and I dont think we failed him, cause with everyone that I saw in the club are going wild, Jon and the Boys had to enjoy themselves! I will never ever ever ever forget this ever!! I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT CONCERT IN DC!!!! JOVI FOREVER!!!!
