24 June 2001 - Hamburg, Germany Concert Review 25 June 2001
awesome

A review by coockie / coockie11@web.de

This was my third BJ concert and it was awesome- unfortunately the Trabrennbahn in Hamburg wasn't really advantageous for a concert like this, since the screaming and clapping faded in the crowd- therefore the amazing Bon Jovi concert atmosphere, which is usually sooo much better than at any other concert, didn't really arise and sometimes it seemed as if whatever BJ did, they just wouldn't get the crowd rocking. I'm sure most of the people did their best though, but that you just couldn't really hear them because of the missing acoustics. Nevertheless it was a great concert with a few really fantastic surprises, such as songs like wild in the wind, the great fireworks and the fact that Jon, Dave and Hugh came on stage when Southside Johnny, by the way one of the best support acts I've ever seen, were playing- that was an outstanding surpise and really got the crowd like mad- what a fun! Jon obviously enjoyed playing with them and he looked soooooooooo good! After all, it was a really good show with all the great and imperative live songs like Bad medicine, Keep the faith, I'll sleep when I'm dead...

Nonetheless, songs like the faster version of Living on the prayer (though I really love the slow version- it sounded awesome), these days and runaway were most definitely missing, especially runaway, which is live even better than the album version!

Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot and as always, the show seemed to have gone by much too fast, ...and as usual before I haven't even realized that I'm actually part of a BON JOVI concert and thus able to rock with this fricking best live band I've ever seen!

Can't wait to see them again- keep rockin
and keep the faith guys
see ya
