Can people get banned?

Obviously we're all talking about the same person here.

Surely if we all group together and give back everything he throws at us we can get rid of him. He comes up with remarks that lack any sort of humour or wit, and his insults are nothing but sentences full of swearing.

If we respond to him with intelligent, well thought out, witty replies then he will eventually realise he is no match for us.

Can I just clear up please my name is Neil, EI, lol. I noticed you'd spelt it wrong a few times, didn't know fi it was a typing error or you thought that was my name, lol

I thought it was better to ignore him and let him tire of the game though.

I don't think it would work as some people want any kind of attention, be it negative or positive. I have found ignoring to be the best solution, if they are not getting attention eventually( this may take months) they go somewhere else to get the attention.

Jane is 100 percent correct on this. Take it from a teacher that this is the truth. In some cases, the best response is no response.

I could not agree more with Jane. Any kind of attention feeds their need of being recognized - even if it is negative feedback. I look at it as a real problem the person has - needing recognition, feedback, acknowledgement soooooo badly, they'd resort to the very last option - assault. Kind of like child-psychology 101 - where a toddler will to things it knows not to do, but will do so anyway because the kid needs attention so desperately, it will resort to craving bad attention - cause at least it is attention (now I don't remember if I learned that in child psychology or if I read it in one of my dog training books ---- same principle anyway as dogs and toddlers are pretty much alike ).

Ignore, ignore, edit, edit, lock, and lock - the only things that will work - the trolls will disappear.

Other than that - I think Ice said it all. Banning shouldn't even need to be considered - the reaction of the other board users should be sufficient.

Think about it, I interact with idiots on a daily basis. I can't wish them away, but I can minimize my contact with them - and if I don't talk to them, they don't talk to me....

he can only ruin them if you think it as such.....
