What determines when a thread needs closing due to namecalling and when the posts are merely edited?

Besides, namecalling wasn't why the thread in question was closed. It was closed because one mod didn't think other people wanted to read about the stuff in it. I'd think that if people didn't want to read it, they wouldn't post and the thread would drop off the page....

I agree Maria. Threads should only be closed/locked when name-calling is involved. I will speak to Goose about this in the mod-forum. Thanks.

I agree with you. No one has the insight to say, "nobody wants to read about this." I don't think anyone has perfected telepathic understanding of every member of this forum yet.
