Well 'swearing' is something very specific. Just because you don't like the word and you think it's 'naughty' then that is your problem, it isn't a general societal issue - but when a person writes a message in such a way that makes it difficult to read (uncommon abbreviations, spelling and grammar errors, bad punctuation etc). There's very much a difference between not being able to actually read something, and reading something and tutting because there are words that you don't like.
