Peter is making a mess of this forum. The question is why? It's quite annoying to read a messageboard with all those stupid popups.

If Mozilla/Netscape increase their "market share", that will be a bad day for people involved in web production - yes, IE does not follow standards like Mozilla does, but its still better to have 90%:10% where you can just ignore Mozilla than 70:30 when you have to do things with 2 browsers in mind - who can render html quite differently...

As for the new ads, check the JT future, ads etc topic in this forum.

I don't know. I always have the feeling Windows is not too happy with other browsers. IE is pretty integrated in Windows. It loads faster. The annoying thing it only displays the page when it's fully loaded which makes it slow.
I also heard sites of internetbanking aren't always compatible with Firefox or Opera.

Anyway, the ads, just hit skip and they're gone. Could be worse .

That's how Microsoft is abusing their marketposition. When IE is the farmost dominant browser they seem to lack standards. So Microsoft creates their own standard once again. They tried to pull the same thing with Sun with their own Java VM. In the end they were creating their own Java rules. Standards are not standards for nothing. They should be followed. When everybody follows the standard you don't have that compability problem.

Hello Folks,

Ive never had a problem with pop up until now, guess my pop up blocker has always been good. BUT ITS NOT STOPPING THESE NEW ONES

What can I do , I need a new pop up blocker that stops them, Ive been reading your messages, some of which I dont understand, is Firefox + Mozilla a pop up blocker programme and is this what I need to download ? Where is it ?

Dawn

No, Firefox and Mozilla are two browsers. Like Internet Explorer, but better. You can download either one from www.mozilla.org

Not true. Every web designer I know would be happy as hell if IE would be banished. Not only does it bend standards to suit Microsofts agenda, but it simply doesn't work. Firefox and Mozilla and even Opera all follow the standards 100% and work in all OS's. There are Linux and Mac users also!

And IE is the only one to render HTML differently, it renders it wrong.
