Default I'm new, and my thread got locked

Wow, I made my first post on these boards, asking about Richie's status, and a mod locked the thread before I could even thank those who were kind enough to reply. So much for asking any follow-up questions.

Way to make a newcomer feel welcome.

You got your answers. If you want to ask follow up questions you can go to the Richie thread in the tour forum. I closed that thread before it got out of hand with posts that weren't answers to your questions.

Your thread had already taken a turn into speculation and away from your answers. If you can't understand the need for it to be locked and for the conversation to be kept in it's proper place, so be it. You can just as easily post in the Richie thread as you can in the thread you started since you got the answers to your questions. Everyone who posted on your thread posts in the Richie thread and you could thank them there and ask follow up questions there. I don't think that's unreasonable at all.

Yeah, God forbid there'd actually be two active topics at the same time on Jovitalk, we can't have that now, can we? Locking that thread just screams overreaction from a moderator to me, and the condescending tone you're using right now isn't helping much either. But yeah, let's start thanking people in other topics for reactions they left in other topics. All to keep this place tidy, ofcourse.

Team Simsense!

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Overreaction to the max there. Not exactly a warm welcome - and surprisingly they've deleted/deleting their account. I did warn the person in question that they would not get a positive experience in Jovitalk - point proven. Why wasn't the original Richie thread locked months ago? It went WAY off tangent and is currently off tangent now. But you, The Mods, allow it to continue. The person just wanted some info and didn't want to sieve through thousands of posts of stuff that actually has nothing to do with the topic in hand - Richie not on the current leg of the tour.

Smacks of a touch of arrogance if you ask me.

The only one overreacting (and overreacting in a major way) is the new poster. He knew there was a Richie thread already and he could just as easily asked his questions there. He didn't have to sift through a thousand pages to ask a question. The fact that he knew his thread was superfluous is shown by the fact that he prefaced it with a plea for a pardon.

And the Richie thread continues because it keeps most of the mess in one place for the most part which is better than cluttering up the board with 47 topics on the same thing.

Your actions condescending tone have just scared away a new poster. I hope you can sleep at night and live with yourself. I know I wouldn't be able to live with that thought.

In case he's still reading; Simsense, I got your back.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
