Yeah this board software is doing really well, things are really busy these days, DC is having around 8000 visits per day, I'm surprised to see everything working ok without any problems!

It does say that the server is busy sometimes, but its far less frequently and for shorter time periods each time that it does it than ever before

vBulletin has another great feature - when the server gets too busy, the board software rejects additional users. This way, the situation cannot get out of hand and server crash due to high load can never happen.

Is there a fixed maximum number of users or is it more dependant on if people are posting or viewing etc? It seems that one night it was busy with 90+ people but another day it went over 100 I think

Yes when it's too busy it never last long, so it's ok.

DC is now pleasant like it used to be. It was too slow during a time, so boring !!!

Good work Peter, thanks !

It depends mostly on what people are doing as some activities are more demanding for the server than others. This software is written with huge forums in mind and full of optimizations that decrease the server load. Have you noticed that it takes some time for the forums to be marked as read after you read the last unread post of certain forum? That's one of those optimizations. Why run the same command every time a user loads the home page if you can do it every minute

I don't read many anyway so I tend to use the link to mark them all read when I've read a few anyway
