hmm, that is a bit harsh, don't you think? I agree that no stalker ever thinks they are doing anything wrong or hurtful, but I have lots of patience before I get rid of friends

nope, in that case I'd just remove the person. I am very selective of who is on my messenger to begin with, so I don't think I'll get into that situation. Blocking is useful only for the people that don't understand busy signs

And THAT is why I hate Instant Messengers and have hidden status on every board I use that allows it. Some people can't understand or won't accept that being online does not mean I'm always in the mood to have a conversation or that I might show up online but it doesn't mean I'm sitting at my computer. I may be flitting back and forth doing something else and merely have the window open.
