In no particular order...

Any Other Day
Novocaine
Last Cigarette
I Am
Undivided
Neurotica
Mystery Train
Whole Lot Of Leavin'
One Wild Night
Just Older

There's a few more good ones here and there, but those are the ones that stand out to me the most. I won't do a worst list like JerseyboyUK did, or we'd be here all day.

No particular order.

1. It's My Life (Yes, it's a disaster live these days, way overplayed, and inspired several horrible clones. But I still think, judging the album version alone, it's a great song. And like it or not, it's in the pantheon of classics).

2. Undivided (Most unappreciated Jovi song, probably because the rest of Bounce was so bad. We see some of the band's best elements here: writing about an event while keeping it vague, so it could apply to anybody. I'm not crazy about how the album version is mixed, and I wish they did more with it, but whereas the rest of the album got almost everything wrong, this song gets almost everything right. Go watch the performance from Randers last year).

3. Have A Nice Day (Yes, an IML clone. It's also by far the best, and is distinct enough in its sound to stand out on its own. It's a keeper live, in fact I wish it was recorded more like the live version, instead of the overproduced version on the album).

4. Whole Lot of Leaving (Best song off of LH by far. Only one that succeeded in this woebegone country-sound w/ bon jovi experiment. No obnoxious fiddles like on the title track, no gratuitous twang that starts every forgettable track on the album's backside. This is a good, creative song that I really hope is the one LH Song that still gets played in the future.)

5. Any Other Day (It's not the best song this decade like a lot of you think. The use of "dunno where im going/know ive been" is just uninspired, the transition from the 1st chorus to the 2nd verse kills all momentum, and the fadeout at the end, quite frankly, blows. But just about everything else in the song I love. So yeah.)

6. I Want To be Loved

7. Last Man Standing

8. I Am

9. Bells of Freedom

10. One Wild Night (album)

Others I considered: Hook Me Up, Memory. Left B-Sides out.

Also, I hate it as much as you, and objectively I don't think it's very good by any means, but Who Says deserves some notice for it's success here in the states. I think the album track (without moron country girl) is listenable, and live versions are nauseating. That said, whether we like it or not, it's one of the two songs that defined the band this decade.

1.It's My Life - that song changed my life. My favourite song of all time. Jon vocal ie PERFECT (for me this is best rock vocal in any song). Very powerful anthem.
2.Any Other Day - amazing. Great lyrics, solos, vocals...
3.Whole Lot Of Leaving - i love lyrics (one of the best). I love like it sound and how Jon sing it.
4.Dirty Little Secret - this should be HUGE hit.
5.I Am - i didn't like it after 2-3 listenings but some listening later i love it.
6.Undivided - it shows that Bon JOvi can play a little bit harder.

This 6 songs are from my Top 10 best Bon Jovi songs which they ever done.

7-10 I can't say which song should be on 7.8.9.10. There are too many songs which are great... TYFLme, SIISo, STWorld, Mystery Train, Temptation, YCLALove, YCSWIDream, TAAOANight, Bounce, HMUp, Misunderstood, OANight, Complicated, IWBLoved, LMStanding, Nothing, WTWYare, MAMemory, TLNight, ... too many to decide.

6. Save The World
7. Lucky
8. Unbreakable
9. Thank You For Loving Me
10. Standing

It's a shame i only limited my self to 10 for the 'worst' section, otherwise Bells Of Freedom, We Can Dance, Lost Highway, No Regrets, I Could Make A Living Out Of Loving You, Hook Me Up, One Step Closer, and All About Loving You would all have been included!

Wow are you just doing this to piss other people off? This is the best WRITTEN music, not the best, musically. Do you not like songs that are stories? Summertime, Joey, Wildflower, Walk Like a Man and Right Side of Wrong are all fabulous stories. They are actually some of the best lyrically written songs Jon has written this decade. Don't just put songs down that you hate or doesn't connect with you. Lyrically, Everybody's Broken is my 2nd favorite Bon Jovi song. Thank your is other peoples too. Just because you hate the song doesn't mean its not well written. Well, I guess everyone has there own opinion, but I don't get how you can put Walk Like A Man and Joey as your second and third worst written songs. I get summertime, I like it, but it's just an imitation of several other "summer" songs with woman and love and whatever...

Anyway my top 10 are:

1. Everybody's Broken
2. Walk Like A Man
3. Two Story Town
4. Bells Of Freedom (Alt. Lyrics)
5. Any Other Day
6. Have A Nice Day
7. Make A Memory
8. Right Side Of Wrong
9. Joey
10. Welcome To Wherever You Are

Sorry if I wrote bad the name of the topic, but this is about the BEST songs of this decade. It's not about only lyrics or musically but in general.
and in part the topic it's okay, cause a song to became a song, must be written. xD

So, basically this topic is about the BEST songs of this decade. And Crush is included, though it was wrote in 1999. lol

Listen, for ****'s sake, if you think Jon's a good storyteller then you obviously don't know much about lyrics. Jon's lyrics to songs like Joey and Right Side Of Wrong are just pathetic attempts to become known as a great singer/songwriter. Songwriters like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, a recent example is The Hold Steady's Craig Finn, tell stories in their songs. Morrisey's another example, his lyrics for The Smiths told stories of life in working class Manchester in a witty, engaging way. When has Jon done that?

Best written my ****ing arse. Bob Dylan's Tombstone Blues is a well written song, not ****ing Summertime. The songs you mentioned are generic ballads set to feeble Springsteen impersonations, apart from Summertime, which is a generic mid-tempo song that's lyrics don't even tell a story.

****ing AWFUL post from you there.
