Totally agree, however there are still some here that feel that pop is the root of all evil and to call BJ pop is the biggest crime ever!

Anyway.. what were the other albums?? It would be interesting to see that top 10.

yeah, and so? theyv always been in that area of music, right from the start. so why do you find it funny then? u must like them to post here, and even if you use ''theyr old stuff used to rock etc etc'' argument that doesnt make sense coz they were just as pop back then as they are now (ok, maybe without the airbruushing and dodgy suits) but still.

I find it funny because while ago people were fighting with teeth & nails against labelling jovi as pop. now everyone seem to be ok with it.

And, I always considerd them being in a poppy side of rock anyway. There's nothing wrong about being pop, but it is amusing how some people think it's end of the world if their fav "rock" band is referred as pop.
It's still not ok for me, but Bon Jovi is not my fave band anymore

One thing I want to add:

A catchy melody or a sing-along chorus don't classify an act as a pop-act for me; if every band that plays sing-along choruses would be a pop-act then even the band of the guy in my sig would be a pop act.
The difference between rock 'n' roll and pop doesn't take place in the musical level. The question for me is: Is there heart soul and spirit in the music, can you you fell something of what Bruce calls "the ministry of r'n'r" or is it just dumb entertainment. that's what seperates Rock 'n' roll and pop for me, is it still art that raises an emotional reaction in myself or is it just entertainment created to sell units. So I hope now you understand that's not OK for me if you call e.g. BJs 80s work as pop.

hmmm, but that is entirely subjective.

What grabs you may leave me cold and vice versa. I bet the 12 year old girls feel Britney's lyrics and songs speak to them and touch them on a 12 year old level. It isn't dumb entertainment to them - just entertainment that speaks to a different audience and different level of maturity.

Nirvana speaks to me - it makes my stomach twist and my heart pump. At the same time there are tons of peole that go 'what?' and can not relate in the very least.

Any of the songs on Crush and Bounce leave me cold as a rock - others go into convulsions over it.

Whether or not music touches you or is done to sell units is rather subjective and is a useless definition of genre or art for that matter.

Sure it's subjective, cause this is my personal definition for myself based on my faculty of judgement. For God's sake I don't force anyone anyone to follow
