Inspired by Rolling Stone, the world's most annoying attempt at a rock magazine? Check, please!

"Play too much from the new album". How the **** is that something bad? If you want to hear the hits, go to a greatest hits tour, not to the supporting tour of the new album. Simple as that. Fans want to hear all the discography, that includes new songs.

Exactly. If you are going to see a band on a tour to promote their new album, you should expect to hear songs from that album. I'll always make sure to listen to the new album of a band I'm going to see, it's common sense.

I wouldn't be fussed with having 7 WAN songs in the set on this tour, they sure as hell won't be turning up much in any setlist in the future, much like Bounce, HAND & Circle tracks bar the same few have all bitten the dust.

Their problem isn't playing too many hits, it's playing the same album cuts over and over again, tour after tour. Yes, I could go a few tours without hearing Bad Name, Who Says, or even Wanted, but I don't have a problem with those songs, it's singles that were failures (like Lost Highway, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, Whole Lot of Leaving, etc) and other album tracks that need to be replaced with other album tracks that haven't been played in years... and this kind of goes hand in hand with #8.
Sleep When I'm Dead is great lol.
Wanted and Bad name are classics, you can't remove them from any setlist

I really hate Sleep, but I agree with you about Bad Name and Wanted (although I'm tired of both).

I hate it too, it was the biggest turnoff on the gig I attended.

I still occasionally enjoy the studio version of Sleep, but live it is so stale and has been for a very long time.... the only thing that keeps my interest is trying to guess what cover they are going to throw in. Same can be said for Bad Name (stale and boring). I know they'll never cut the big hits, but personally, I wouldn't mind rotating them a bit. There are big hits they haven't played this tour... BOG and LYHOM to name two.

Don't be delusional, no one goes to a show to hear new songs, people go to hear the songs they're familiar with.

If you're a band with a reputation of having hit songs and no one's bought your latest record, no one's heard any songs of it on the radio and unless the song is a monster live, no one will actually care for the new stuff. It's a good thing Jon's started to realize that no one but a select few die hards cared for The Circle, just like no one really cares for songs of the latest album.

People only want to hear the new stuff if the album's actually any good, or enough people actually enjoying it. And frankly, any album cut of the eighties records work better than Born To Follow, Lost Highway, Because We Can and the likes, which is kind of telling considering more people will probably have heard the latter.

In 2003, despite the disappointing quality of the Bounce record, there was a buzz before the shows of people talking about hearing new songs. Everyone wanted to hear Undivided, Bounce, Hook Me Up and The Distance. Now can you imagine anyone saying "My oh my I hope they're playing Because We Can!"?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
