So true.

U2 sold out (Vertigo? pfffh.).

Bruce has lost it and gone folk (think TLFR was bad? Check out this Pete Seeger shit)

Aerosmith's gone bland (much as I hate to admit it)

Boston? Journey? Styx? LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG gone.

What do we get instead? Kelly f***ing Clarkson.

Man, there ain't nobody left but BJ...

your just asking for it with a post like this...

Some would argue to the contrary, personally i think U2 aswell as other bands like the RHCP are still holding the flag for rock these days

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

There are plenty of good bands, and Aerosmith or U2 haven't sold out anymore than Bon Jovi imho

I was thinking about this somewhat earlier ... IMO, there's no point at all comparing BJ to like Aerosmith, Journey, U2 (OK, probably U2 more than some others, but ...)

They should probably more be compared to their peers like Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison etc...

And also, I liked Aerosmith's last album quite a bit, despite the fact that it was a covers album ... dunno if I like it better than Bounce / HAND though ...

LOL!!!!
Someone's either looking for a row or has their head up their ass!
U2, the boss, aerosmith have all gone soft? hahaha.

Concerts sold out in minutes/hours all over the world, Albums going multi-platinum and winning awards left, right and centre just proves how right you are!!

Nice thread.
(brought a smile to my face)

and they are WAYY ahead of those.
Though IMO Def Leppard haven't made a bad album, they are loosing it a bit.

Anybody check out Into the Now from Tesla? Absolutely phenominal CD. Their best since their first if not better.

How about Vapor Trails from Rush? Some real heavy stuff from them with more on the way late this year!

Now.. I am certianly a bias fan. My fav groups bar none.. are BJ and U2... I have 160 cds between them.

That being said... Aint Nobody Left but the following...

Bruce, Jovi, U2, Stones, McCartny, Metallica....

It may be a strech but you might also include Elton John/Billy Joel, Van Halen and Aerosmith.

I could be forgetting some but in my oppinon the ability to sell out a stadium... not an arena... but a Stadium would mean youre still "here".

I happen to be tickled that my two favorite bands still fill those stadiums while supporting new records... but if the other bands can fill them while just on a tour for shits and giggles... they didnt just get that drawing power by being unsucessful.

The sad part is, I grow more and more affraid that when the bands I named are gone someday... that might be it... Damn digital age... Last Man Standing Indeed.

Im not bashing anyones band oppinons but I just think being able to sell out those stadiums is a great way to measure sucess.. no matter when or how long ago it was earned.

And for the record... as some very naughty guilty pleasure.. I like what Ive heard from Kelly Clarkson. Its not her, or her singing.. its the music. The hooks, the riffs... if it was sped up just a bit and the amps turned up... the music itself is essentially revamped eightys hair pop metal... I for one would buy a Vixen cover album of Kelly Clarkson songs.... Enjoy bashing that one in your posts..
