Yeah, in 2000, Slippery was selling about 8,000 a week for a few months, I'm sure it's still pretty high today.

That's quite a range...you would think that reporters would be able to narrow it down a little better

Aren't they pretty big in Japan too? They must sell a lot of albums over there.

They planned on The Box Set being released when they reached 100 Million Albums... If they had that since Crush, then why all the fuss? The box set should have been released years ago.

It depends where the Journalist got their info.
If they are talking about US totals alone the 32-40 million would be correct.
Worldwide the debate is another story.

In 2000, Jon said the box set was being worked on to mark 20 years, which is why it will be out in 2004. It's not to mark "100 million." The whole idea of it being to mark 100 million is because he joked that they were going to call it "100 million fans can't be wrong."

I did see 100 million posted on some of the press releases that went with TLFR. Go figure?

Not true, they've said several times it was to celebrate their 100 million album sales.

Yes it is true, it has been said many times that this is celebrating 20 years of the band. 100 million would just be an added bonus.
