But if we talk about rock bands, then the Beatles, U2, Led Zep. Probably Pink Floyd. I am not sure about The Rolling Stones and Queen. Quite an elite club, I'd say.
RS not in it would surpise me

Yeah. Good chance they are in there.

Also the Eagles. Afterall they made the biggest selling record of all time.

I wouldn't be certain about Mariah. I read an article on her a few years ago (I don't know why) and her total was at 80 million.

"Butterfly had been the album that made Mariah's worldwide album sales top the all-important 100 million mark."

Her latest album put her over the top.

I remeber back in 1993 Much Music aired a special entitled "Egos @ Icons:Bon Jovi" and right in the intro of the show they jon bon jovi talking with his Red Army jacket and he said "We sold 45 million records, that's a hell of a lot more than ac/dc, aerosmith, van halen, metalica, u2 and def leppard, I could name ten more........" While all of the artists mentioned in the above quote from jon sold more albums than bon jovi in the USA at RIAA.COM, none of them have sold over 100 million. 67 million bon jovi albums sold outside the USA compared to 33.5 million in the states. (Canada alone Bon Jovi has sold 5 million total albums out of a total population of 31 million ). What I'm trying to say is that a lot of groups just concentrate on the US market and not the rest of the world. So while groups like ac/dc, aerosmith, u2 sold at least 50 million in the USA, they haven't reached 100 million worldwide.

Artists who have sold over 100 million world wide:
Elvis (1 billion)
The Beatles (1 billion)
Garth Brooks
Mariah Carey
Whitney Houston
Celine Dion
Elton John
The Bee Gees
Pink Flyod
Led Zepplin
Rod Stewart
Maddona
ABBA
Fleetwood-mac
*Rolling Stones "not sure about this group, could someone help?"
It is quite an elite group, which explains the news/press from the media (even the ones who hate bon jovi) the acknowldgement that bon jovi has sold 100 million albums.

Does anyone know the sale numbers for u2? I know they sold more than bon jovi in the us market, but in 93 when jon said they sold more than u2 45 million at the the time, I have a hard believing my u2 friends who said they sold more than bon jovi I notice that on u2 sites fans quote numbers from 100 to 120 million? ATUCLB outsold crush by a couple of millions, but Bon Jovi rocked the 90's with close to 40 millon sold ( I know acthung baby and best of 1980-1990 were huge sellers, but not at the level of ktf, cross roads, these days)
