Default 1986 Kerrang interview with Jon + Question

Okay, so I posted a fraction of this Kerrang interview in the Sambogate thread, but everybody was too busy complaining about long posts, that it pretty much went unnoticed. As I mentioned there, I wanted to post the entire thing here too, so there it is:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

I have a question for anybody who knows. Jon here talks about the intention of playing an acoustic rendition of "Hardest Part Is The Night" during the Slippery When Wet Tour. I tried looking it up on YouTube, but to no avail. Did that ever happen?

Fantastic interview, thanks for posting. A lot of interesting quotes pulled from this, especially the Richie/Dave not working hard part.

Thanks for sharing-that was a good read. As for acoustic HPITN-sadly it never happened. Would have loved to have heard it though........

He made the same claim, almost verbatim, about Born to be my baby.

I often wondered the same after he said that. But my guess is he actually meant Silent Night which turned more and more into a slow acoustic-like ballad at some part of the SWW tour.

Well they did put out a great acoustic version of that on the bonus disc. And they actually played it live in Australia on Countdown (if I recall).

...which is (the B-side) by the way the most beautiful acoustic rendition ever to be heard from Bon Jovi .)

True! I meant more him lamenting it not going to number 1 because the producer didn't listen to his production and style ideas.

Yup, that's the part I posted in the thread about Richie. I think it sheds some light on the dynamics in the band.

Too bad about "Hardest Part Is The Night". When I read that, it really got me interested and curious to hear it. Hey, maybe someone should suggest acoustic renditions and/or full rearrangements for these songs to the band, to make them regain interests in those songs they so hate to play nowadays. It would make everyone happy! I assume the reason why they hate those songs is, at least partly, because they've got too messed up and worked on by other people, losing their real soul.

We want the band to reinvent their songs in a new acoustic fashion with new arrangements and everyone will be happy? 2003 says otherwise
