Being that the video contains a more raw take, something tells me the video might have been cut prior to its release... And maybe even was almost used as the second single. Elton John's name attached to it alone was promotion in itself...
Maybe the video was shot with the idea of 'inserting Jon here' but again, they pulled the plug and just released the video as is...
This is all just speculation...
I think raw footage of Jon (and Elton) in the studio could have made an awesome video... oh well...
