Queen of New Orleans was even voted one of the 15 best songs of the year, JBJ got an MTV Europe award for best male, etc. 9 Million may be a bit exaggerated, but I am sure it sold more than HAND or BOUNCE.

True, DA was probably bigger then any post-2000 release in Europe. Midnight In Chelsea still pops up in most top xxx lists of best songs in Holland.

And it isn't like the total sales, or the biggest part of that, is sold in the US (sometimes people from the US think that).
It wouldn't suprise me that BJ has sold more albums in Asia and Europe seperately then in the US>

Well Europe has more than double the population of America (730 million compared to 300 million) and then Asia has a higher population than the rest of the world combined (near 4 billion) So it only makes sense that the majority of their sales would actually be outside of the USA.

I don't know about the music club sales, but Young Guns sold under 1,5mil (2xP RIAA) through soundscan and wasn´t that popular outside US...
the world is not only the usa.

I think that's too easy thinking tbh.

It also has to do with certain popularity duning certain era's in different continents.

I can imagine they sold albums in the 80's in the US than Europe for example. Vice versa duing the 90's...

Why would they sell more in America, which has 5% of the world's population, than the other 95% of the world? They have always had a lot of fans in Japan certainly - even in the early days - and have always played plenty shows in Europe on their tours. They do play more shows by number across the USA, but here they play to stadiums which hold more people. Why would they play elsewhere so much unless they knew that they had fans?

USA has the biggest music fanbase. But it's less diverse than other places, USA is very trendy.
That's why Bon Jovi sold a lot in the US back then in the 80s (Glam Metal at the top).

It might have sold more in Europe, but overall HAND and even Bounce sold more than DA.

How do you know that? The album is just 1xP according to IFPI/Germany. That doesn't tell much, but 1,5 mil? I don't think so.

For exampe:
"Bon Jovi has sold over 120 million albums around the world and performed more than 2,500 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 32 million people."

By M&C News Jun 27, 2007, 14:14 GMT

So they sold 120 before LHighway.
