I simply never liked how it sounds. I remember buying it 1987 after I bought Slippery and then the debut. I was just a kid, like 10 years old, but I clearly remember my reaction like ""is there something wrong with my LP? is the needle damaged?" I was used tot the sound of their other albums but this was overall pretty weird and not what I liked. I liked the songs though, dont get me wrong. Now I realise its too sterile produced, without any live feel to it. And too loud, almost to the level of clipping. I really thought my needle was damaged. Thats just to my ears, Im no expert or producer myself or anything like that.

Some years later I bought the cd, but still got the same issue. The live versions were so much better. Or take Runaway, thats the kind of production I like. You dont hear the difference?

I became a fan by the time Bad Name was a monster hit. So I bought Fahrenheit only after I already knew every song on SWW like the back of my hand.

I loved it from the very start. There was even a time when I thought it was actually better than SWW. That has changed, of course. But I will always love that album. It’s different, it’s raw, great melodies, lots of heartbreak, lots of emotion.

What a great rock album by a band that would become the biggest band on earth the next year.

Sadly, even though I’ve seen them 18 times during these decades, I’ve never heard one single song of that album live.

In my opinion, the album isn’t bad, though I wouldn’t call it the best either. I first discovered the band around 1991 with Slippery When Wet. Fahrenheit has a sound that was very well-suited to its time: massive drums and distorted guitars. From the moment I heard it, I was hooked on Secret Dreams, which remains my favorite track on the album to this day.

That said, there are a couple of songs I haven’t connected with at all: In and Out of Love and King of the Mountain. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not saying they’re bad songs, but I feel the same way about them as I do with I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.

I completely agree that this album deserves to be remixed, which would be an excellent idea, even if it’s an extremely unlikely option in the distant future.

Jon's raw vocals are insane on this album. The songs themselves are secondary to them.

He talks about new songs "Danger Zone" and "Afraid Of The Night" in this videoclip. The last one I have never heard of. Could this be an early version of "Hardest Part Is The Night"?

Afraid of the Night could also be an early/later version of We rule the night maybe?

Sounds reasonable, but here's early lyrics that already feature the "The Hardest Part..." title:

So maybe that was even earlier

Didnt think of that one, but yeah could be. Although thematically it sounds like two opposites.
