I don't know, I think it's a hard game to play.
I mean, who's to say if the B-Sides really would have better sold the album.
I just know that the six songs that I listen to most of off Bounce are:
Undivided
The Distance
Joey
Misunderstood
Right Side of Wrong
Bounce
I cant imagine any version of the album without them.

I would have liked to have had Another Reason to Believe and Postcards on there, yes. It would have been a better tracklisting. But i don't think it would have really affected their sales. Unless they released one of those and it became a big hit and drove non-fans to buy the album i think the sales would have stayed the same. The album debuted at #2 on the charts and then from there pretty much fell off. It debuted that high because the die hards of course all buy it the week it comes out.

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

I don't think a better tracklisting would have changed the sales, because to me unlike Crush there IMO isn't a song on Bounce that could have been a big enough hit single. I still shake my head about Just Older.

Undivided is the only song I consider worthwhile from Bounce (and maybe additionally the title track too). It would have been a far better single choice than the forgettable track that followed it. I realize the band may not have wanted to release it because it was more of a tribute song than something to make money off of, but it is really the only song that I consider a keeper from Bounce, and IMO one of their best songs, period. I think it's a brilliant and honorable combination of classic Bon Jovi and a tribute to September 11th without ever actually STATING that its about September 11th, which is why the band can perform it at places like Madrid and still have it connect with fans there. Only a great song can do that.

Like many here, I feel the rest of the album pales in comparison. Horribly. Everyday has a great riff, and that's pretty much it. I always thought The Distance got more credit than it deserved, really does nothing for me. Tracks 4-6, usually a critical portion of any album, I automatically skip. Hook Me Up is a decent rocker but boasts a powerless chorus. Bounce is a nice finish, but the damage is long done.

I always felt the problem with Bounce was the band felt they I had to stay mellow in light of the 9-11, yet they were unwilling to put a lot of songs ABOUT the attacks on the album. Instead we got a bunch of forgettable ballads. w00t.

Compare that to Have A Nice Day, which expresses its theme of "inclusion" very clearly. Bounce had a message, but it was as if the band was unwilling to tell it. A Blown opportunity, as so many have said.

I guess Undivided was not released as a single because it was too heavy for the target group. Everyday may have some loud guitars in the mix, but the chorus still sounds like N'Sync's "Bye Bye Bye". Undivided has dropped d guitars and two solos. It is the better song by FAR, and along with Bounce clearly the best song from the album, so I'd also have liked to see 'em being released as a single, especially since that'd meant that these two would've become live staples and not just one offs.

What matters, or what at least should matter, is how good quality the music is and not how many bucks Jon makes. Music should not be about business and making money - the way Jon seems to see it - but making fine art.

Bounce sucks, and I don't think the album should have ever been released. But they did have a few good songs for it, and if they really had to release that album, I would have liked this to be the album's track list:

1. Undivided
2. Standing
3. The Distance
4. No Regrets
5. Joey
6. Breathe
7. Right Side Of Wrong (Richie could have sung this, it would have worked well)
8. Misunderstood
9. Alive
10. Another Reason To Believe
11. Postcards From The Wasteland

This would not have been a great album but it would have been the best they could come up with the songs they had. I do think that "The Distance" and "Postcards From The Wasteland" are both very good songs with good lyrics, and "Undivided" is a good song as well. And "Another Reason To Believe" is good. "Breathe" isn't too awful either. And the album should have been called Postcards From The Wasteland, Bounce is just a stupid name.
Um, I don't care how much the album sells, I was just awnsering the original question..
