We love Bon Jovi, in the past their music has moved us.

This is the only reason we criticise. If Bon Jovi meant nothing to us then we wouldn't bother.

He doesn't have to hand over complete control but there must be someone close to him who knows how he thinks and what he wants for the band and could take the stress and strain off his shoulders?... although I pray he wouldn't leave it to someone like Matt!

Maybe how he thinks and what he wants for the band is part of the problem. That's what I think anyway...

I was wondering if I liked some songs of the new album because they were good or because it was new material. Now I have the answer, I don't listen to The Circle anymore...So yeah, when you listen to a band for 15 years or more, you're excited when a new album comes out. But when it's disappointing, you get over it really quickly

The thing I like about this board is that everyone is open and honest in their opinions and while some may not agree everyone gets a chance to say their piece without being banned.

Now that Jon markets it all as a brand, don't we as a consumer (as he thinks of us now, not a fan anymore) have the right to speak up when we are dissatisifed with a product? That is what most of us here are only doing. You can't vent this stuff at Backstage, so here is the place that most people come to share their feelings.

I know for me personally, I am feeling saddened by the changes that have happened over the last few years. Jon constantly complains about touring, leaving family etc. He does not HAVE to. He never needs to work another day in his life if he wants.
Most of us here, we HAVE to work to feed and clothe ourselves, kids look after elderly parents and so on. That's life.
Jon always banged on about being for the working class, but he doesn't show it through his actions.

This album was supposed to be a big rock riff one, but Jon bull***ts again. I know what is going on in the world right now. I don't need another singer telling me. I'd go out and buy a U2 album if I wanted to be preached at. I want to hop into my car, put on a cd and get lost in the music for a while. Not have it remind me of what I see every night on the news.
Bon Jovi used to fulfil that for me musically, and yea part of me (naively I know) is hoping for that to come back again from them, but I really now think I am holding onto the impossible dream.

Ok little rant over...

I agree with you.
But there's something called criticize, and other called bash.
You made your critique here, and that's ok...
but I've read so many bad things here that sometimes is hard to think some ppl here are fans...
Especially the use of bad words, for me, I think that's not needed.
Even the way Jon and Richie write the songs and the lyrics of The Circle was the target of insults.
Show your opinion, I'm not saying we should shut our mouths and accept everything they do. I'm not very happy with what is going on lately too, and I'm one of the ppl who didn't like the doc.
But I don't insult them or their work.
