"Jon Bon Jovi was asked what he thought the meaning of Live 8 is.

“Volunteerism is the new black,” he said"

This is the only quote I've seen or heard from Jon regarding Live 8. It's a pity he couldn't have been more positive/constructive about the cause!

And this comment regarding the glitz at the hotel they were all staying in also seems somewhat inappropriate considering they were there to try and cancel the DEBT in Africa:

To me the band (or should I say Jon) hasn't come out of this occassion very well.
He said nothing on stage about the why they were there, they played a new song from a forthcoming album and even placed adverts on the stage of the HAND smiley with 'Coming Soon' on it.
