Default A little bit of Bon Jovi Poetry!

I thought that it might be a fun idea for everyone on the board to channel their love of the band and creativity in one go. Couldn't think of any way to do that, so I gave up and decided to start a Bon jovi poetry thread instead!

A limerick to their lyrics? Some Haiku for Sambora? Just a plain ole verse for plain ole Jon? An Ode to Obie?

Or a parody of a song, perhaps??

Get creative, folks!!

Love Laura

I actually already have a song which really is my tribute to Jon and Richie for their influence in my song writing and 'raising' me with their music. Recorded a demo version of it a couple of years ago...

RAISED BY ROCK & ROLL

Morning rolls around - I’ll be still in bed
Won’t get up till noon - A party’s in my head
Out last night, Can’t remember where
Had a great time, So I really don’t care

Father’s on the phone
To the preacher he calls
Mom is convinced
To the devil I fall
Everybody talks
They talk about me
I don’t give a damn
Its me I gotta be

Give me some space – raise a little hell
Lend me your ear - Got a story to tell
Not your average Kid – Known it all along
Born of Man – Raised by Rock & Roll

Music’s been my language
From the cradle to the stage
Call it what you want
Its more than just a phase
I have done my time
I have paid my dues
This is what I want
This is what I choose

Give me some space - Raise a little hell
Lend me your ear - Got a story to tell
Not your average Kid - Known it all along
Born of Man - Raised by Rock & Roll

Living through my headphones
I’ve been breathing through my mike
I’m destined for stardom
You say what you like
I ain’t got no grudges
I ain’t got complaints
I’m living in my own world of
Six and four string saints

Wow, very impressive.

I love that, and it really does capture the spirit of the Bon Jovi attitude!

Good writing!

Typical, this- I start a poetry threat and for the first time all day my head goes blank.

And not a lot rhymes with Bon Jovi!

Lol!

I do a lot of song writing actually as a hobby. From the reactions I've gotten from others my songs [lyrics especially] seem to get good responses from people. Its a hobby now but I would love to be involved in the music industry as a song writer if I had the chance.

thanks for the kind words.

hey,

Ray, your poem (which was excellent by the way) reminded me of something. My uncle recently died at the young age of 51 (btw:i'm only 15) and at his funeral, people could go up to the podium and say something about him. Now, my unlce was the type that loved to party and have a good time and live life to it's fullest. My aunt said he lived 9 lives. So, my cousin (his son) went up to the podium and said something. He said that he'd like to thank his dad for teaching him not to follow the path in life that everyone else takes, but follow your own path and do what you wanna do so that you live your life to the fullest. What he said has kinda stuck with me since. And your poem reminded me of that. I guess it's what i've been think a lot lately, but couldn't really put it into words. so, great job on the poem.

thanks,
Juliet
