Default A Test of Loyalty to the band...

I was talking to a George Michael fan the other day, and we were discussing when George "came out", and it got me to thinking...

Everyone give your honest opinion now, think it through carefully. Just say this happened, would it affect you at all in the way you thought about or viewed the band?

------------------------------------------------------------
This is all in good humour- I am not in any way attempting to insult Jon or the Band! Bear in mind guys there is a 100000000000000000 to one chance of this ever happening, and I am sure that Jon and Dorothea are 110% happy in their marriage!
------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday 10th November:
CNN
Rock star Jon Bon Jovi has announced that he has split from his wife and childhood sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley. The couple filed for Divorce on Saturday 9th, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason. The couple have three children, but who will gain custody of them is not yet known.

Tuesday 12th November:
Magazine

As it always does when there's Hollywood Divorce in the air, the rumour mill has been running over time since the dramatic news of Jon and Dorothea Bon Jovi's split over the weekend. The usual cries of infidelity have been made, and so far, all aimed at Jon. Rumours about he and Ally McBeal Co-star Callista Flockhart and Sex an the City colleague Sarah Jessica Parker have all been floating around, but will we ever know the truth?

Friday 15th November:
Press release from Island Def Jam records

"We refuse to discuss the private lives of any of our musicians in public without their prior permission. Jon Bon Jovi wishes for the time being to remain silent on the reason for his divorce from wife. The family ask that the press and fans will leave them to their Privacy."

Friday 22nd November:
Magazine

The mystery surounding the break up of Rocker Jon Bon Jovi's seemingly perfect marriage are growing ever more colourful as time goes on. Popular rumous concern Jon and Callista Flockhart, and even suggestions about Jon's wife and brother having an illicit afair have been made.

Wednesday 27th November:
Statement from Jon Bon Jovi, given via Spokesperson

"I feel that I will never be allowed peace until I come clean with the world about why my marriage has broken up, but I knew that when I came into the public eye I gave my privacy away. I have been deeply hurt by comments accusing Dorothea and myself of infidelity, and the many other lies that have accumulated, when none of these are the case. I feel I must be frank, to relieve my family and my friends of these vicious rumours, and as a mark of trust in Bon jovi's loyal fans. I have com to realise that I was growing unhappy with marriage, through no fault of anyone's. I still love Dorothea, but no longer as my wife, and it was not fair to continue like that. I realised that I was gay about 6 months ago, but I just couldn't face the world to tell them. Please, now you know the truth, may you give my friends and family the privacy they deserve."

---------------------------------------------------

I'm not good at creative writing- that was the best I could do. But, what do you think would happen?

Once again- no offense meant to anyone- this is PURELY FICTIONAL!

wow that would be something...

dunno how i would react, but the chance this will happen is verry small (in my opinion) But i still would be a Jovi fan.. because i like the music and i'm not realy interested in Jon's personal live

(maybe some girls would be 'happy' because jon is 'free' again....)

Nice question which involves a lot of thinking. Ok here's mine

If Jon and Dorothea were to split then that is entirely their decision and hopefully a decision made between the two of them with no outside involvement from either the band or Jon's or Dorothea's family, and as for us fan, well lets face it, its nothing to do with us.

I would still be Bon Jovi fan coz like The king of Swing stated its about the music and nothing to do with their personal lives. I would just hope that things would be very amicable between the two of them for the sake of the kids.

But like you say i cant see this happening.

Thanks for the thought thou

Most harm would be done to his personal life & Family, normal fans wouldn't really be that bothered as long as the music keeps coming.
Then again I guess the obsessed fans would be making a fuss!

to be really honest: i wish jon and actually everybody on earth a happy and successful private life- but jn's private life doesn't interest me at all. if he's happy then it's good for him- and believe me that my opinion of him won't change if it comes out that he really has woken up sometimes next to anybody who's not dorothea and i'm not even interested if this "anybody" is male or female (the only case i would show reaction would be if that "anybody" was richie- i think i'd brake down of laughing ) - this is not cause i'm a die-hard fan- this is cause i'm interested in jon bon jovi the MUSICIAN and not in jbj the husband, or jbj the father or anything like that

but btw: sambora laura you should really think of a career as a journalst for a tabloid: you could show your creativity and earn a hell lot of money

Lmao! Very true!

That would be quite funny...

But even less likely!

It's true, and not a hidden fact that in Bon Jovi's early days, Jon was less than faithful on occaision, but I'd still like the band and the music. Honestly, I think I'd be a bit upset, because if Jon batted for the other team as t'were, there'd be no chance for lickle ole me! Saying that though, there's no chance anyway...LOL! Awh hell, I think I'd just be miffed for the sake of it. I'd still love the music though; I could NEVERstop loving the Band, ever!

That's my honest view. I'd be miffed, but in the scheme of things, it wouldn't matter to me!

Let's just hope I haven't put any ideas into his head!

P.S. Thankyou very much for that lovely comment, Martin! I would love to be a writer, but I'm not too sure I'd do well as a Journalist- I just feel bad for everyone, I could never paint anyone in a bad light!

All this has nothing to do with their music. So who cares?
