I wonder, as a run on from my last question, if Bon Jovi lost a portion of their fan base, how would they react?

hmmmmm...

This post just makes me think of the late 80's when it was ALWAYS rumored that Jon and Richie were more than just good friends. LOL Back then it was not considered acceptable or cool to be gay and people used it as a way to dis the band.

As far as the non-Jovi fan part of the world, the reaction would just depend on how the press spun it. They would either make him out to be a monster for leaving his wife for an alternate lifestyle or elicit sympathy for him and praise him for having the courage to come out of the closet. Public perception is so tied into press that it's ridiculous. It's a sad commentary that so many people choose to let someone else do the thinking for them.

As far as my OWN reaction. I respect Jon as a writer, singer, actor, musician, and humanitarian. What goes on in his bedroom is his business.

who cares if he was gay i personally dont have a problem with it. i mean being totally serious here i have my feelings that he's probably slapped skins on occasion (no offence ladies i just get that vibe off him) anyways if mick jagger and david bowie can do it how can Jon not eh?

Well we surely do see all kinds of subject on this board, don't we?

What is going on between Jon and Dorothea isn't something I care about, as personal life is supposed to be, that's right, personal. And whatever they decide to do is up to them, I'm here for the music and nothing else!

I defenitely wouldn´t care - at all! Like everyone said before, it´s his private life and it doesn´t in any way effect their music. So I wouldn´t have a probelm with it.
Well, for non-Bon Jovi Fans it would depend on how the press wrote about it, but I guess some people would turn their backs on BJ, cause they´d have a problem with it. Others wouldn´t care at all, cause they only listen to the music of a band. So it would depend.

Peeps on the other thread by Becky (another corker of a question!) are getting riled because she only chose one band member as her example. I thought that was fair enough, but apparently not. SO! As I cannot abide by double standards and I avoid them at all costs, I am now accusing Jon, Tico, Richie, Dave, Hugh, Alec and all their instruments, pets, family and clothes of being gay.

Hope this clears it all up! Lol!

Love
Laura

I really don't care with Jon's personal life.
However, should he decide to rap and use turntables in the next album... that will make me reconsider my allegience to the band

Am I the only one who would really have a problem if that happened? I would lie if I said that I don't care about their life at all. Ok, I don't care about what Jon and his family does e.g. on vacation. It's their thing but imagine - Jon - divorce - gay?!?!?! I can't find a word that discribes what I would feel like if I heard that. It's not only that something that I wouldn't have expected at all would happen - imagine what the songs would be like, imagine not Tommy and Gina but Tommy and Joey or imagine what a song like I want you would sound like when you know that. Imagine the future of Bon Jovi - right said fred?
Don't get me wrong I don't have anything against gay people but if one of these guys would be this way I don't know if I could still listen to their songs like I do it now. I wouldn't want to start thinking about the story behind it (i.e. the love songs).
