I think they are a gray shade. I wasnt paying attention too much towards this section in my Psycology class last year. I would think a gray shade, though. I dont know how they deal with traffic lights. Do they just look at one thats brighter? I haven't ever figured it out. My grandfather was colorblind, and told the same remark as richie when asked how he told the difference!

ive always wondered what it would be like to be color blind

A working friend of mine is color blind too and I asked him because I found it strange that Richie says his fav color is purple which is a kind of red and he explained me:

They can see red and green when it is on its own. So a red car is still a red car for them. They only have difficulties with these colors when something is very colorful with a lot of different colors. So they still can have a red as their fav color.

well, this seems to be the easiest way, doesnt it?
If I were colorblind I would do it in the same way
