I have often made those comparisons to Stephen King... Long career with a lot of hard work and output. Most of the material stays pretty close to what they do best. Never loved by the critics. Resent output isn't as consistent as their older stuff.

And though Jon has made it himself, his comparison to Tom Cruise isn't bad either.

All we have mentioned are very good at what they do, and for that reason they will be appreciated by pop culture, but not critics.
