Forget that. I hear The Circle has made it to number one.

Salaam Aleikum,

if you read my post again you will clearly see that i was stating that lost highway, jons solo albums (which im sure on there own TO DATE have sold at least 15 mill), and richies solo projects do not seem to have been included in the 120 figure, thus another 30 million or so onto this would be likely.

anyway so few people buy cds now that the figure will probably be the same for zillions of years

Not if they force you to buy a copy of the album with every ticket pre-order

That image says that New Jersey sold 15 million? Surely it was higher than that? I cant see Keep The Faith selling just as many copies as New Jersey did.

If Jon's/Richie's solo cds have sold that many to date, the big chunk of that 15 million would already be accounted for. Not enough has happened since 2007 for an additional, say, 4 million of Jon's solo cds to be sold since LH. It's way too big a leap for 30 mill to have been sold since LH.

I can. New Jersey was huge in the US, but Keep The Faith was when they really became a global powerhouse. Ironically, Keep The Faith sold about 1/3 of what New Jersey did in the US.

So...

The wikipedia article for 'New Jersey' suggests that the RIAA certified 'New Jersey' 12x Platinum on October 20, 2009.

While i'm sure it's sold more than the 7 million copies it's been certified @ since the early 90's - that is quite a jump.

It would also appear this mysterious certification isn't listed on the official RIAA site...

Still - Slippery + New Jersey haven't been certified anything beyond 1996 - these albums have certainly shipped more than 12 + 7 million copies.

I tihnk we're confusing US album sales with worldwide album sales. In the US, Slippery has sold in the range of 12-15 million, while NJ has shipped between 5-8 million. Worldwide, Slippery is around 30 million, while NJ is around 20 million.
