Both times I saw him play with the band in 2001 they all seemed very happy to be back together. Obviously whatever animosity there was between them is gone (or at least it was then) so I don't see why all this is such a big deal now.

I'm not saying it's a big deal. I'm only saying that i don't like him.

For anyone wondering what Alec has been up to since 94, here's an interesting article published by the Asbury Park Press in 2000.
Alec doesn't like These Days.

Alec sucks, I would do the same if I was him. If i would be released as an band member I would tell everyone that the band stinks and sucks.

If Alec had a good reason for doing what he did, he wouldn't have declined to be interviewed for VH1. he could've explained everything there, and get it all cleared up - but it seems he didn't have anything to say. He could've easily added his side to the whole thing, but he declined. It's his fault if this is one-side.
you'd make a terrible historian or lawyer ...

ever thought he is just perhaps now a very private person who wants to put things behind him?

maybe he doesn't want/need to

it takes a stronger man to back down or turn away than it does to constantly be pleading your innocence, or arguing your case

also what would be the point in him arguing... his word against JBJ's... people would just assume he was bitter about the loss of money/fame etc...

Even if he did tell his side of the story, there would be people who would simply dismiss him as a traitor. I don't think he wants to be too associated with Bon Jovi because of all the negative attention that he would get.
