I think I've got this interview somewhere. First there's someone asking Jon what the secret is for keeping a band together for so long with the same line up and he bullshits himself through the question. 10 minutes later someone else asks him if Alec is leaving and it turns really awkward. Great radio, but it's obvious Jon doesn't want to talk about it.

Sebastiaan

Otherwise you can listen to it here:
(the fan question about Alec comes around minute 15 and the host picks it up about 2 minutes later)

I think Alec and Hugh both were around to play bass. Alec was available when they needed him. But Hugh was a better studio player so they relied on him more.

You can actually hear what Hugh played. KTF being the prime example. Alec was on Fahrenheit. I think the story's resolved by now, even with the videos of Hugh in the studio during the recording of New Jersey.

Never seen those. Are they available on the Backstage site?
