I am not one to judge because I have never heard Alec play live. Besides I think they're both great bassists. Still, I cant help but wonder how the last three albums would sound if Alec performed on them. Would there be any difference?

It was debated before and I'm not in the mood to write all i wrote 3 months ago again....

I'm with you, Alec helped with their hard rock image, and attitude. Hugh is good, but he's just a backing musician, who doesn;t really look like part of the band (just by the way he plays, stands, dresses e.t.c). I'd say from listenening to both of them, Hugh is a better bass player, but it's just not got the same edge as it did with Alec
