Thats the one, I just think they should stick to their roots, hopefully next time they will.

Yeah, I kind of miss it, too. I would have enjoyed seeing how they would have messed with the font for each of the new albums.

I know I'm in the minority with this, but I'm not a huge fan of the old font. It's not terrible, I just think that the more recent ones look better.

Give us the bloody font back please, you don't see Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, AC/DC etc giving it up.

Why do they keep trying to appeal to modern audiences? So they don't become a nostalgia band. If you aren't constantly trying to remain relevent then what's the point in bothering anymore? I'd hate them to become one of those ridiculous bands that haven't changed a jot since the 80's but are worshipped by Metal Sludge and its fans for being cool.

Quite, none of those bands are even near the same league as Jovi these days. Although I'd very much like to see the font come back, I'm not opposed to attempting to be modern or whatever if it keeps the band going strong.

Things like this thread, and the thread about their style kinda shows it. I know people change, and I certainly don't expect them to dress as they did in the 80's. But it does seem they're losing their roots. Or already lost them even. Why do they keep trying to appeal to modern audiences, and change things like this. It really is a shame, IMO. And this goes a lot further than just a font, or what they wear, lol.
Yup I agree and it's one of the reasons why I'm going off Bon Jovi. The music is too pop orientated now and they seem to be writing more cathcy bullshit these days than quality songs. I guess it's hard to keep evolving and being original and you definately don't want to make the same album twice, but I get the feeling that they're running our of ideas for things to write about now and are trying to appeal to the younger generation too much.

As mentioned elsewhere, the changes in font/logo mirror the bands musical changes.
They want to keep up-to-date, at the end of the day it's what is keeping them playing stadiums. They don't have the worldwide respect that Maiden, AC/DC, and the Rolling Stones have, moving with the times is the key to thier ongoing success.

And slightly off-topic: Def Leppard are the not in the same league as AC/DC and Iron Maiden! A perfect example of a band stuck in the past.

Well said! As long is the band is going strong and enjoying success, it doesn't matter what it is
