Why do they need the backing track for 'Livin' On A Prayer'?

Everyone knows it's not being sung and the crowd sing it, anyway.

Listen to any live version and you can hear the SWW version of 'Prayer' and Jon's voice from the studio version in the background.

On the live 8 performance I remember the backing track being louder than usual......

OK, thank you. Must have been the most embarrassing moment of their career.

I suppose the use of a backing track for LOAP is the very reason why Tico can be seen wearing headphones during the final chorus. In a video (SWW -the Videos VHS, MTV awards) he can actually be seen taking off the headphones when the chorus ends for the last time.

I can actually see the sense in some of the old songs coming back. I mean, they're going to be promoting a greatest hits record from TD onwards aren't they? Which means some of the harder TD songs might get done again. I would pay a ridiculous amount of money just hear something to believe live with decent vocals.
