An evening with BJ MTV 92 rehearsals & complete shows in Soundboard quality

It was played during the rehearsals and they also played an acoustic version in 93 in Birmmingham.

And i always wondered why in the live versions he says
''Now they're changing the palace guard,it ain't easy acting so damn hard'' instead of
''Now the changing of the guard has left us feeling so damn hard'' like he does on the album.
Does anyone have any ideea what these lyrics mean?

O yeah,and in the live versions he says ''Take a look in the mirror,do you hear what I say'' and ''You can keep all the money and the streets that's painted gold if I could just keep my soul''
On the studio versions he says ''Well look at your hands,do you hear what I say" and ''You can keep all the money and the streets that's painted gold If someone gives me back my soul''

Two guesses...first is that Jon purely and simply forgot the right words or maybe they were an alternative version/take he sung during writing and/or recording.

About Fields of Fire, I have my Theory and mentioned some time ago in this forum. There are two different studio versions, one of which was recorded in sessions of 1992, and would be very similar to the version of An Evening with.
Changes some parts of the lyric, Richie sing one part of song, also the arrangements of guitars sound very different.


The other version, possibly was recorded in the sessions of 1994.
If you look good, the arrangements of guitars, voice and sound production is more crude than sound production and mix of Keep The Faith. Is very different, sound like "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night" and "Something For The Pain". I think it belongs to that period, IMO.

Never thought of that.I agree with you! So that's why the versions from An Evening are so different.
But doesn't the info from the song say that it was recorded in 1992 Vancouver?

Possibly a mistake... not be the first time. I don't think they returned to Vancouver in December 1992 to polish one song.
