I never listen to that album all the way through at one go. The first time I listened to it I remember being happy when I heard a snare drum hit. Not a happy record.

I have loved all the Tom Joad tracks that Bruce has done live with the E Street Band - that breathes some life into them. But just the naked album by itself - same here. There is some beautiful (and truthful) writing on it but as a music CD it's damn depressing.

As I said about These Days - it doesn't hit me quite the same way. Maybe because I am enjoying Jon's vocals so much that I don't pay as much attention to what is actually being said.

Yeah I share that exact same opinion. For me KTF is my favourate album by Bon Jovi. Always, Saturday Night and Good Guys were all good tracks written around 94/95 and These Days is another great album. So what if the songs are a bit darker than what we're used to from Bon Jovi? Yes there are a couple of weaker tracks on These Days, but Just because Jon's got something more to say instead of Na na na na, na na na, na na na na doesn't make it a weak album. It adds diversity to the band, and in my opinion it brought the best out of them. You just have to look at the b-sides and outakes from the 90s to realise how great the band were back then. Staring All Over Again, Fields of Fire, Radio Saved My Life Tonight, Good Guys and Why Aren't You Dead, to name a few, are all good songs that would easily get on any album that they released in the last 10 years.

I think '(It's Hard) Letting You Go' is a masterpiece. Haunting and beautiful it is. Plus, the live version on the 'These Days' single is brilliant with the added drums.

Agreed 110%!Those ballads had depth lyrically and musically. No junk like TYFLM or TWASA shit songs.
