All the songs that would go on a new greatest hits album would be so contemporary that no one will be interested. Most people in the U.S. want nothing to do with These Days, so all the songs will come from Crush til HAND (the exception being this ain't a love song). So it will be a greatest hits album of the last five years. Is that really necessary?

As far as staying in the market. It actually did work for them. Not only did they throw out some music to let people know that they were still around, they had a successful tour. How is that not staying in the market? If the band wants to release a greatest hits so what??? Why does everyone care so much?!?!?! That just means a couple new songs for everyone and who knows what they will throw on there. Jon nor the band have officially announced much of anything yet anyways.

They had enough material already. They could have left out the new ones and put Born To Be My Baby, Living in Sin, Tokyo Road, Stranger in This Town and others that came close to make the shortlist, according to Jon at the time.

No link to the interview?

I don't know how they'll pull this off. It's not very realistic to think any TD songs will be on it, stateside at least. I gotta assume each country will get it's own version..

Uck...happy that new stuff will follow it...but if this is just a run-of-the-mill type greatest hits, nothing special...well then that seems so much like other rock bands to me...greatest hits albums are great when it's the kinda band where all you really care about is the hits and maybe a select few non-hits but for me Bon Jovi is not that kinda band...anybody else feel the same???

Bon Jovi haven't released that many Greatest Hits records compared to artists like Aerosmith and Bryan Adams.

This is true. The fact that they didn't do it sooner to capitalize on IML is surprising. This had to happen sooner or later and now that they've had a few decent sized hits since 2000, it makes it the prime time to do so.

It'll be a fall release, so it's a record company decision to release such an album. Christmas anyone? Stuff like that must be selling, since every year in the fall there's a mass of Best of's releases that are selling like crazy and topping the charts.

These albums are never made for the die-hard fans like us, it's for the masses who own maybe 1 or 2 albums and like to have singles collections. Those people that make up 80% of the crowd at a concert, you know....

It was bound to happen sometimes, so let's get it over with and here's to a nice Christmas with BJ topping the chart and maybe 1 or 2 new tracks...
