The goody-good part of me wants to say "well, whatever, at least now they seem to have a goal in life" but the evil part of me is laughing too much and thinking it must take a really shameless person to post that publicly. Quite sad.

Thank you!
I know all about weight problems to (isn't every woman :P ), even in combination with medical problems.
And the things I posted are just facts.
A concert is NOT the right reason to diet because after the concert all those people stop their diet usualy cause the way they've been dieting isn't right. They only messup their digesting.

I read this just now and honestly - I can't see anyone doing anything like that just to "look good" for a concert - or any other event actually. Wanting to look good to the outside world is probably a natural desire of both genders but it is pointless to try to make yourself over for anyone or anything else but yourself. If it is impotant to YOU to lose weight (for health reasons or otherwise) you should; but not to please a friend, a lover or to fit into fashion. Unfortunately women (at least in this country) are subjected to a constant pounding of TV commercials telling them that they are:

1. Too fat
2. Not blond
3. Don't wear the right clothes

You're all too cynical. The Bon Jovi Diet sounds like something I would be excited to be a part of.

It isn't just advertising though Kathleen, all the actors and singers and various celebrities are thinner and more "beautiful" than "normal" people, so everyone is trying stupid diets and having surgery and wearing different clothes just to fit in. It won't be long before everyone looks the same.

True Neil - just recently I was watching the hurricane coverage on CNN. Every single female reporter (and many of the males) was what is known here as a "nordic blonde" I have seen several nasty comments about this in various news reports. First - in New Orleans - the local people are overwhemingly black or Cajun. Second - the entire USA has only a small fraction of "natural" nordic blonds. However, those are the people who get hired to report the news. We wouldn't want someone average looking or older than 30 to report our news or weather would we? Sarcasm intended

It is stupid how we go to work everyday with "normal" looking people, but don't want to see them on tv.

I know whats missing ... wait for it a BON JOVI keep fit exercise video.. the boys would make a packet out of BSWJBJ....

This diet thing has been going on for ages over in BSWJBJ land. Didnt Mrs B start it as she wanted to lose weight ? as did others so it was send your recipes in for the mag or something like that. I have never heard of any other rock band site providing for their fans weight problems, so bring out the spandex pants again boys and make a keep fit video .

In all seriousness, I think anything that persuades people to be healthier is a good thing as long as it doesnt become obsessive ie I have to lose weight to look good for BJ is frightening but I dont think they are saying this...they seem to be saying they are going somewhere special ie BJ concert and they want to look their best for it. Trouble is people diet for a special occasion and then pile the pounds back on afterwards , surely its better to realise you are the special reason you need to diet for and keep fit constantly.

and of course i don't mean to make fun of fat people but wanting to lose weight for a concert so your skinny t shirt fits you is really laughable.
