I'm listening to the 5.1 mix of Bounce and it's such a sonically better sounding version of the album.

I've been listening to the last three albums of the band. And I think we are already in a fourth phase:
80s stage, 90s stage, post2000 stage, post sambora stage.

There is a change of sound and form of different ideas.

How many great songs would you choose from the last 5 years?

Great? Three; one per album.

Who Would You Die For?
Rollercoaster
Blood In The Water

Rollercoaster? I never liked this one, it's catchy but it's so cheesy.

I am going to highlight some fav:

A Teardrop To The Sea
We Dont Run
Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning
Who Would You Die For
Fingerprints

This House Is Not For Sale
New Year's Day
The Devil's In The Temple
God Bless This Mess
I Will Drive You Home

When We Were Us

Beautiful Drug
Lower The Flag
Blood In The Water
Brothers In Arms
Luv Can

Others that I liked but feel are inferior: I'm Your Man, Take Back The Night, Burning Bridges, Born Again Tomorrow, Labor of Love, Walls, Limitless, American Reckoning, Story of Love.

I think that even though it is not what we would like it to be, I must admit that I can enjoy their current albums. I would give anything for a more radical shift towards rock, you know, taller and a little more aggressive guitars, a more punchy Jon attitude, a less predictable structure and so on ... I'm not asking for a return to old Bon Jovi from SWW or KTF, just a real ****ing rock album. But Jon is almost 60 years old now, so I think this will never happen, now I am aware of it, and somehow, I just look to the future without wishing for anything specific.... and just be open to whatever Jon can offer with the band and their music.

Somehow with 2020 I have made peace with that continued disappointment.

Yeah, but that's what they've always done very well.

Songs I also like but wouldn't call "great":
Teardrop to the Sea
Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning
This House Is Not For Sale
Born Again Tomorrow
Do What You Can
Lower The Flag
Beautiful Drug

So there's 11 songs I really dig since Richie left (well, one written while he was still in the band and featuring a co-write by him). I guess you could swap out Saturday Night for Fingerprints or We Don't Run if that's a strict criteria.

Of course, I'd need to check if these songs could even make for something resembling an album... they're wildly different in terms of mood, so I doubt it.

I always thought that we were in that 4th phase since Richie's departure. There was definitely a change of sound from WAN to BB. An adjustment from BB to THINFS. And an improvement from This House to 2020.

For me the highlights from this era are:

A Teardrop To The Sea
We Don't Run
Who Would You Die For (even though it's from 2005-ish)

This House Is Not For Sale
Knockout (when you think in it live)
Rollercoaster
I Will Drive Your Home

Do What Your Can (feat. Jennifer Nettles)
American Reckoning
Beautiful Drug
Story Of Love
Let It Rain
Lower The Flag
Blood In The Water
Brothers In Arms
Unbroken (even though it's too slow I've always liked it)
Luv Can

Recently, I listened a lot to Bon Jovi's first album. Obviously, it doesn't have the same spirit like Slippery or New Jersey. But still, it's a great 80s rock record, that catches the 80s vibe very well, it has a nice flow and great straight-forward rocksongs.
Pretty good first effort!
