Heard that song on the radio a couple of times and always thought that it sounds quite similiar to Bad Name. But I didn't want to impute her to have been "influenced" by Bon Jovi.
Now I looked up the songwriters and who has a songwriting credit? Desmond Child.
So I think it's fair to say: He did it again

It's more of "If you were a woman" by Bonnie Tyler, but then again, Bad Name was ripped off that and it all was Desmond Child

Desmond is credited along with like 10 other guys. I think it's safe to say that, yeah, he was credited since it is an interpolation of the Bonnie Tyler thing.

As per Wikipedia:

The chorus originally just contained the melody, but was reworked in the studio with Leland, Love and Cirkut, where it interpolated Bonnie Tyler's 1986 song "If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)", and consequently added Desmond Child to the song's credits as a songwriter.

That claim has two sources, so it's probably not just a personal interpretation.

Late to the party, but I'm wondering if it isn't Aldo Nova. If what Aldo says in this interview from May 1996 is true, he helped with the demo. Jon could be revisiting the original.

Q: What was your early association with Jon Bon Jovi?

AN: I was mixing my album “Fantasy” at The Power Station and Jon was an assistant there. We would meet in the halls, and we sort of connected right away. I would invite him into the sessions and we became friends. He would come to my place and hang out, and then when came the time to do a demo of “Runaway” (ed: Bon Jovi’s first hit single), he asked if I would play guitar, and I did. I ended up playing keys and singing backing vocals on the first album. We’ve been friends for 15 years now and get along better than ever.

I don't know...
The track list on the album doesn't mention any song with David on vocals (only it says: Music and lyrics and co-produced by Bryan).

I don't think David will be singing anything because he's not in the cast.
