Both All The Small Things and What's My Age Again were 1999.

Both Crush and Bounce's recording footage, Richie is a bit on the "heavier" side and trimmed down when actual promo started. Based on hair length and weight this looks like late 99, early 2000 I think.

According to Wiki, the single release for All The Small Things was in late 1999.

Not sure how quick to just sign on bands with one hit that promo crew was. Also wasn't aware Jon had longer hair before Crush.

This is the era I believe it comes from.

Two Story Town! Considering IML had already been written ("Remember these characters, because they're gonna be back soon"), they were sorta ahead of the times with not playing it due to online leaks (or would any radio station seriously have played a potential bootleg?)

It was so casually mentioned having already been recorded but even then, Say It Isn't So was to be the first single, right?

My honest to god thought is it wasn't official to be the first single OR was so freshly recorded they haven't worked out how to do it live. Remember that promo show, I want to say China Club or House of Blues, where they did it without any backing tapes and it did nooooooot sound great. I don't think it was ready to be done live by this point.

Was it? I always thought the label made them write a tune with Max Martin since they weren't feeling SIIS. But that might not have been what they told Jon

Haha yah true. My brain might be mushing a bunch of that era together. I know there was something where Jon said the first single would be Say it Isn't so or It's My Life but I can't seem to find my audio of this webcast hmmm.
