Default Jon had Lyme disease

I just found this video which seems to be an upload from someone who got it in 2021 through being a member of the Bon Jovi experience? Anyway it's quite cool to see Jon interact with old performances and songs he's forgotten about, but also interesting to me that he mentions he had Lyme disease back in 2007, which can be a pretty debilitating disease that some take years to recover from

I thought this had been well known. It was accute when they did the Live Earth gig at Giants Stadium in 2007, he mentioned it in an Australian interview later on. They more or less flew him from his sickbed with a helicopter to the stadium, carried him on and off stage and brought him back.

Makes me respect him even more. He’s never been the kind of guy who would call in sick.

I didn't know about the Lyme Disease, but I do remember when he injured his knee on stage. He really does mean it about the show going on which I think figures into the situation about Richie.

I happened to be in the front row in Helsinki back in June 2011 when he injured his knee. It was during LTOR and I saw it happen very clearly. It was raining and at first it looked to me as if he just stretched his knee joint a bit on the slippery stage.

That was when I realized what an amazing work ethics the guy has. He just briefly screamed ‘ouch’ and kept on singing, unable to move. And according to my knowledge, not one single song was dropped that night. We even got Thorn In My Side, No Apologies and Wild Is The Wind towards the end of the show. And he even slowly limped onto the catwalk to sing WWWB with Richie. Judging by the expression on his face, it was very obvious he was in a lot of pain.

The next time I saw them in Finland was in 2013. He never got onto the catwalk during that show. He said he left “a part of his knee cap” on the catwalk the last time he was in Finland so he didn’t want to try his luck this time. Fair enough.

(But of course, in 2011, the injury took place on the main stage, not on the catwalk so I guess he was just being funny or he didn’t remember the details).

This was also this in 2010: https://www.billboard.com/music/musi...oncert-957432/ Just looking at the link it doesn't show up, but it was Jon tearing a calf muscle at the Meadowlands Stadium on May 26, 2010. I wonder how many stage injuries he has had?

Yeah I remember that one, too!
It was the previous year before the knee injury.
I think he is actually a lot like a professional sportsman. Like Indiana Jones once said, it’s not the years, it’s the mileage
