The live version of the TLFR "Bad Name" is a so much better than the live version of the original that's I'm astonished. I thought that song had NO potential to live in another format, much less be improved. When you hear it live and you catch the groove it's fun and different and has new life.

All of the songs were better live than on the CD. There's just something about Bon Jovi as a live act that doesn't come through on their studio recordings.

Some are no better, no worse, just different.

I agree. I think Everyday was a pretty pants song to start with, but it doesn't sound too bad on TLFR, and kind of better as a ballad. Bad Name on the other hand was a great song, and when first listening to Bon Jovi it became my favourate for a while, but then got kinda boring with repeated listens. The TLFR version of Bad Name which is bascially an acoustic version, but done in the style of an old blues band playing outside a pub or something. I also thought that the song couldn't be done a different way, but this new version sounds great and has given the song new life, which I think it needed. Both versions are great, and I can't really say which one is better. The one I'd prefer to listen to would depend on what kind of mood I'm in.

A friend of mine who is also a BJ fan said something a few weeks ago(after hearing TLFR for the first time) that I will never forget "they are ALL better than the originals" he said .This guy ain't too bright though and he often gets on my nerves by comparing BJ to every other band etc.

IMO though, I don't think any of them are better.. Possibly Everyday cause the original has never been a favourite of mine... the new version of It's My Life is quite good but not better and the same goes for Bad Name.

wellllllllllll i'd much prefer a true acoustic cd than TLFR, but i must admit i can finally listen to Bad Medicine & Keep the Faith again. for the longest time, i hated those songs - mostly b/c BM meant the end of the freaking show & KTF, well, just b/c i was sick of it!!!

i was blown away by the "twist" they gave these tunes, but i do like what they did w/the songs. it IS different & i don't blame them for wanting to try something new. i am just waiting & waiting & waiting for some big 20th anniversary surprise for us fans..........and TLFR is NOT gonna cut it LOL
