I really think that most of the songs in TLFR are better and less commercial than the original , This album is my favorite after These Days..it's not an easy album ,for sure ,may be you miss richie's solos , but jon voice is amazing in TLFR ,more sensitive ,more mature , Richie does a great job on acoustic , the production is great...makes you trippy
GREAT GREAT ALBUM

I wouldn't go as far as saying better, but I really like the new version of Bad Name and It's my life. They are so different.

The others are fine, but I don't think I would ever prefer them over the originals.

I'd say Always is definately better than the original in MY OPINION. Bad Name is very different and refreshing but better, I'm not sure. I also like the old version very much. The Distance live is better than the album version but I think that doesn't count I've simply loved that song live since I first heard it in Mannheim.

I also like new versions of Bed of Roses, It's My Life and Born To Be My Baby very much but I like the originals even more But now I can have two BTBMB's in my BJ top ten

Bad Medicine and LYHOM are very refreshing also.

So the conclusion is: Always

Taija
You are wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

It is a fact that TLFR is not that good.

The only song that is better than the original is Everyday, but that is only because the original is one of the worst songs in the history of everything. And that is a fact.

There aren't opinions when it comes to TLFR; only facts. And that's a fact.
I agree that there is no TLFR version better than the original. But after that? you're nuts. really...you're nuts

I have always been a fan of bands that can re-interpret theirsongs in different ways. I was actually looking for the new songs when I bought TLFR. But I thought the album was pretty good. Better than the originals?
Nope. I especially do not agree with Always being better. TLFR will tide me over until the box set comes out.

I'm surprised at how many people think this version of "Everyday" is better. I agree. The original felt too much like an "IML" rewrite, and it didn't help disprove this theory when they'd do them as medley on various TV spots. The TLFR version has a little bit of soul in it.

This might be heresy, but I like the new BOR better as well. The first one is so monotonous to me. The new one moves along briskly and has sort of a drunken swagger to it that I think fits the song better. I also am totally into the little humming thing at the end.

I'd probably give the nod to the new IML also, if only because I think Jon sounds so clear and good on it. It's been a while since I've thought that.

The only song that, for me, is absolutely, positively, undoubtedly worse is IBTFY. I can't listen to it. And the bridge.. sweet, fancy maria.. I cringe when it comes to it.

I agree Eric. I was never a fan of the old BOR. I really like the TLFR version a lot better.
