Like you Ive been a fan for 20 years and have grown up and through their music.

I dont think they have sold out. Its common sense to realise that they are in a different period of their lives. THis means they write different adn sing differently.

They have millions, they have cleaned up their act, they are is a comfy place in their lives. They dont really want for anything.

Its hard to write a another SWW NJ TD album when life is good. So there songs are different just like they are, I can appreciate the difference. Everyone learns and feels differently 20 yrs on.

The poet needs the pain ! No pain no poetry !

Whilst I don't dislike Crush and Bounce I cant help feeling that they were trying too hard to write a certain style of music believing this is what the fans will want, rather than just going with what they felt natrually at the time. As an example 9/11 happended during the writing stage for Bounce, you would of expected a more moodier (is that a word?) album, but they set out to force an upbeat album rather than just writing about how they felt at the time. I for one would of been happier if Bounce had gone that way.

I think this is why alot of people feel These Days is such a complete album because you can sense every song has real meaning and depth and was not forced.

I think if anything , the next album will go back towards the way These Days was written and produced, not so much towards darker or depressing music but more raw and not so polished, I still believe they have more than enough talent to pull off a great album again.

i don't think they do like the music they brought out in bounce half as much as say slippery. they're always goin on about the crappy industry today and jon even sings it in 1 of their songs.
they say the industry's dying but then they're bringing out music that appeals to people new to bon jovi. alright some of bounce is good but there's no classics on it and it is mainly pop with a rock edge. they aren't catering for their old fans and they'll lose them if they keep bringing out records like bounce.
when bon jovi are finished they won't be remembered for bounce and that's why it isn't a great album. it will be forgotten.

Ahh, come on let's have a look at the past 4 years:

2 lousy studio records which become more poppy trying to appeal the mainstream-pop audience, a live album which contains more cutting than music and finally a so-called best-of record which rapes their own claasics to present them in a form that doesn't scares little tiny girls which seems to be the new target of Bon Jovi these days, you've Jons face become younger and younger and his teeth whiter whiter everyday shining from every magazine cover and in every C-class lawyer soap.

If I'm a fool...ok, but then Bj are fools too ten times bigger.

Nope you're still a fool.

They weren't exactly underground or low sellers before crush incase you hadn't noticed.

You can say whatever you want about Crush, but as I have said numerous times, that album brought in a new generation of Bon Jovi fans. These new fans help to make sure that BJ keep playing arenas and not some obscure clubs or bars. A lot of the older fans were even happy with Crush, so I don't think the band sold out as you like to say.

If that's what bothers you I don't want to see your teeth, and fortunately I never will.

but when you seem to concentrate more on your white teeth (meaning the whole image etc) and not so much on writing good music that can be a problem, yes.
i kind of agree with stranger with most of what he said. bon jovi have sold out. they have never been "low sellers", as someone already said, but at least they were a mainstream rock band that wrote great rock songs- like some other old rock bands. now they try to keep up with today's music industry and they mainly write (or they mainly release as i want to believe) crappy popish songs. i'm sure they can do better than that, they just have to want it as well imo.
