Odd Couple: Bill Belichick, whose Patriots knock helmets with the Redskins today, is good buddies with Jon Bon Jovi, who recently was named owner of the Arena League's expansion Philadelphia Soul (and also, from what I hear, dabbles in music). In fact, after the Patriots won the Super Bowl, Belichick and his wife joined the Bon Jovi tour in Europe when the group was playing with the Rolling Stones.
"I talked to Bill the next day [after the Super Bowl win]," Bon Jovi told SI Online. "I told him that I thought he should wear the ring on his middle finger. A little-known fact about Bill is that he's a closet drummer."

Rocking with Bon Jovi

With opening acts Sheryl Crow and Goo Goo Dolls, Bon Jovi was the last headliner at the Vet on July 26. Bon Jovi was touring to support its "Bounce" album, which was released last year, and celebrating its 20th anniversary as a band.

"Bon Jovi took the stage at 8:45 p.m. They rocked for three hours straight, very fast-paced and energized and just overall fantastic. What made the show even better was the fact that we were able to go on stage for two songs, being that close was just mind-boggling. Bon Jovi's lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora are co-owners of the Philadelphia Soul, a new Arena Football League (AFL) expansion team. The partnership also includes real estate developer Craig Spencer. Although the AFL's schedule has not yet been released, they say the Philadelphia Soul's first game will be played the weekend of February 6-8, 2004. Around the same time, Bon Jovi will play a private pep rally for the home opener. Game ticket holders will be admitted to the event free of charge.
