He told a girl I used to be pen-pals with to F-off when she spoke to him in public. His wife nor kids was there. He wasn't busy. She thought it would be a perfect time to approach him. I also used to write to a guy who met the whole band and he said Richie and Dave didn't seem to have time for male fans. LOL They can all be jerks. They're like anyone else.

Still, I hear many more GOOD stories than bad from people who've met any of them.

Of course they can be jerks, they're only human (although sometimes I wonder ). I would hate it if that happened to me though. Which is why for a long time I was of the opinion that you should never meet your heros, because they can never live up to the unrealistic expectations.

Yep. I'm lucky b/c I've met my two favorite celebrities and both were even nicer than I could have imagined. That said, I don't judge any of them by a few "bad" stories. I'm not friendly all the time and I don't expect anyone else to be either. No one is able to be "on" 100% of the time.

I think the best approach is if it just happened spontaniously. I have never been a huge fan of the meet and fake its. Where people are lined up and trotted up to have pics and autographs taken whilst said band plasters fake smile on face.

I would rather if I did ever meet any of them for it to random and just happen not a planned event at all. That said its not likely I will meet them, and I am fine with that as I dont have to meet them to complete any dream or whatever. They are who they are to me and thats all I need.
