Not according to Slash. Read the last chapter of his auto-biography. He claims "there isn't enough money in the world to ever work with Axl again".
I'm not saying Slash is completely innocent in this whole thing, but if you believe the majority of stories out there (which I do), you can't really blame the guy. The band would sit around the studio for hours waiting for Axl to show up during the Use Your Illusion recordings. He never would. The albums were recorded with Axl's vocals done separately. Axl having his own tour bus and dressing room away from the rest of the band (still does this).
I think the simple fact is, Axl changed. Before they broke big, he was a down to earth guy, hungry for success and the band was a gang that stuck together. After they blew up, Axl's ego went out of control, along with his behavior and regard toward everyone else, and he never came back.
